gamer, witch & queer artist
My name is Ember and I'm a Canadian queer artist who specializes in vibrant colours, fantasy characters, and diverse body types. I am always pushing myself outside my comfort zone to try new things, and I like to pay particular attention to the shapes of facial features. I enjoy working with cute aesthetics, chibis, and plus-size bodies the most. My biggest hyperfixations include Pokémon, Baldur's Gate 3, and Rune Factory. My other interests include Final Fantasy, Cult of the Lamb, and narrative storytelling games.Recently I have started dipping my toes into creating custom merch, so feel free to ask me about keychain, desk mats, bookmarks, magnets and more!

Commissions are LIMITED!
You may contact me to inquire but I may decline depending on the proposal. My art commissions are not always open, but when they are you can browse my pricing and samples here. Please be aware that I work 50+hrs a week so I don't have a lot of time to work on art. I also experience frequent art block or periods of time where I physically cannot draw due to wrist issues. My turn around times are anywhere from 5-12 months depending on previous work commitments and commissions. Please be absolutely sure you are comfortable waiting this long before commissioning me to avoid disappointment.

How To Find Me
After having read my ToS, I would be happy to work with you! I have a lot of social media accounts but I am most active on Discord, Instagram, and DeviantArt in that order. Some websites I utilize require paying to change your username, so I am not known by thewitchylamb everywhere. Other names I have used are embermayrise, blazingsmolder, and emberblaze.
Commission Pricing
I offer sketch commissions and polished commissions at two different price points. The prices listed below are for a single character. Each additional character is charged at 50% the cost of a single character to a maximum of three individuals in a single image. Anything above that is subject to additional fees. Prices for full scenes will require a discussion in order for me to provide an accurate quote. The level of complexity will drastically change the price.
type | sketch | polished |
---|---|---|
headshot | 25$USD | 45$USD |
chibi | 35$USD | 55$USD |
half body | 65$USD | 85$USD |
full body | 85$USD | 100$USD |
If you are interested in commissioning custom merch for your own webcomics, novels, or favourite fan pairings and characters, you can reach out via one of my contact methods to discuss a quote.
Portfolio
Examples below are shown newest to oldest over the course of several years.
I do update them periodically, but you can click on them to see what year they were made in.
Sketch Examples
My sketch style is a bit more inconsistent and experimental with scratchier lines combined with more watercolour or monotones hues. Guidelines may or may not be present, minimal highlights in the eyes and hair, and may or may not have shading. Depending on how much I enjoyed doing the sketch I sometimes clean it up a little more, but you can consider that a bonus and not the expected. The very first image is technically somewhere between a sketch and fully polished piece, but the lines are a good example of the scratchier style my sketches have.
Polished Examples
These kinds of pieces showcase clean lineart, shading, and highlights. I don't always come up with unique lighting and I do best with lots of specific direction and visual examples for characters and posing. If you have something particular in mind for either of these, let me know! I can work with your ideas to incorporate them into the piece.
Terms of Service
There isn't a lot of subject matter I'm not open to drawing, but there are definitely some things I don't particularly enjoy doing for other people. To see if I'd be interesting in taking on your piece, you can refer to my list below! While I can do my "dislikes" I find them inherently harder and I am much more likely to get stuck on them and experience art block.
likes | dislikes |
---|---|
pastel character designs | mechanical parts or machines |
plus-sized or muscular people | very slender men or non-breasted people |
nudity | most kinks |
flowing garments | suits of armour |
anthro characters | dragons |
small props | weapons |
You must credit me when posting your commissioned art from me on social media.
I do not allow redesigns of my adopts at this time. Minor tweaks such as different outfits, additional tattoos, or hairstyle changes are fine. Adding, removing, or altering physical traits is not permitted.
You may not feed my art to AI.
You are allowed to use my art as a reference, but you may not trace without credit. I understand tracing can be a learning tool for beginners, but it's important to either check TOS first to see if the artist allows it, ask if you're unsure, and then give proper credit if they allow it. Be sure to show me what you make!
Do not claim my art as your own.
Do not use commissioned art for commercial purposes without permission. This includes content such as logos, showcasing concept art in media you intend to sell, using my art on websites that are for profit, etc. Commercial content is charged at a higher fee. Let's talk about it!
I won't be mad at you if you put filters or other things overtop of commissioned art from me, or otherwise crop or edit it for social media. I simply ask that if you are changing the art itself in any way (such as tweaking incorrect colours), let me know first! I'm content to do colour tweaks post shading so long as the image hasn't been flattened. The sooner you tell me, the better!
All payment is upfront.
I accept payment through PayPal only and ko-fi only.
I only accept commissions from people who are 18 or older. I also only draw 18+ characters for commissioners. Sorry!
Chargebacks are grounds for being blacklisted. If you have an issue, talk to me! I'm pretty easy going.
As stated on the front page, my turn around times are 5-11 months. If for any bizarre reason I need more time, I will connect with you to let you know. If you're not comfortable with potentially waiting that long, it's likely better you don't commission me. I have set clear expectations for potential clients, and I won't tolerate slander or guilt-tripping of any kind. Thankfully this has never happened, but I'd rather state such is the case than have it happen and not have it covered in my TOS.
If you commission me for custom merch and you agree to let me sell that merch to the public, you may not reproduce it or sell merch of that art yourself.
I have the right to add additional terms at any time.
